Despite working on solving the bathroom access and dignity problem for years, Claude’s first motivation came from his own experience as a man, and from watching other men in his family and circle face the same quiet indignities. That’s what sparked the first edition of Urinup™.
But his curiosity didn’t stop there. His passion as a girl dad and loving husband pushed him to ask the harder question: what does this problem look like for women?
What he found was impossible to ignore. Women family members, friends, focus group participants, and survey respondents all pointed to the same reality from every direction: the women’s side is worse. Wait times are roughly double. The population affected is larger across every age group, and especially at the senior level, where mobility and urgency collide into a daily dignity crisis. The lines he had witnessed at stadiums and large venues, elderly women missing the moments they came for, weren’t the exception. They were the norm.
So Claude made a decision: he paused the men’s edition and redirected his full focus to the Women’s Edition, because when urgency calls, you answer where the need is greatest.
